#SECartoons

To us, Twitter was a distribution channel for art. In 2009, we launched a Nashville-based political cartoon called "County Seat". That work led to projects for the statewide Democratic party, the NRDC, Music Saves Mountains, and a few other politically charged organizations.
We tinkered with Twitter until 2010 when "The Governor of Dixie" was created. "The Gov," as the fans called it, became a voice for the new, modern, southern existence, including a weekly cartoon featuring the plush sideline mascots from all the SEC teams we called #SECartoons.
During the pandemic, we drew maps for fans and followers answering the question: "What is your Dixie?". It was fun, and we connected with a ton of like-minded SEC fans.
