Cartoons!

LOCAL POLITICS

Believe it or not, wine was not allowed in our grocery stores. Even more shocking than that, coal companies are blowing up and leveling our mountains up and down Appalachia. We were asked to create a series of cartoons to be used to educate the voters and our lawmakers about these issues.

CASSOWARY ON TV

We were asked us to draw a cartoon to help defeat a state bill pushing for

Tennessee to create its own currency.

So we did and this happened.

#SECartoons

In 2009, we discovered Twitter. The perfect distribution point for all things art. We launched a Tennessee themed political cartoon series. Shortly after finding success and discovering we don't like politics, we pivoted to a weekly SEC themed cartoon using a fictitious lead character called "The Governor of Dixie". The Gov was picked up by ESPN and we began creating graphics for magazines, blogs, and other SEC themed media outlets.

We love Jack Davis.

We discovered his work in MAD magazine.

DAWGZILLA!

is our tip of the hat to Jack, The Dawgs, and (in this case)

The Grand Daddy of Them All.

DAWGZILLA! is a series of hand-drawn cartoons

Ink pen and pencils of color on Bristol board.

Sold as a set of originals to fans, followers,

and Dawg lovers all over the country.

When the Universe sent us the idea to draw a

Di Vinci style last supper featuring the SEC's

on the field mascots, we listened.

"The SEC Last Supper" celebrates the moment when they found out Texas and Oklahoma would be joining the SEC.

When Smoky appeared at the center of the table, The University of Tennessee's Advancement office liked it so much they purchased a sign and numbered set of prints to be framed and given to their largest donors.

A friend, at the time, was working for the NRDC on their "Music Saves Mountains" campaign. We were asked to create a homespun,  southern-psychedelic  themed poster for campaign.

They liked it so much it showed up on their T-shirt at Bonnaroo in 2011. We were grateful for the invitation to attend the concert at the Ryman, a screening at the Belcourt, and the festival.
